VALAN PHOTOS is a stock photo file, consisting mainly of 35mm colour transparencies. It has been in existence since 1980, begun as an environment file, in the broadest sense, and has retained this mandate for over 20 years while expanding in all subject areas.

  VALAN PHOTOS is very well known in North America as a source of wildlife and scenic images for calendars, magazines, books and other paper products.

  Our files contain many specialised topics much needed for editorial illustration. We have an extensive wild plant and flower file. This includes mushrooms, lichens, clubmosses, and horsetails. We also have a comprehensive insect file. We keep reference books on hand and will help with the cross referencing and locating of these topics.

  Our coverage of man and his environment is particularly broad: Natural resource industries (agriculture, fishing, farming, forestry and mining); Science and research; Sports and recreation, summer and winter; Man's closeness to animals (dogs, cats, horses, sheep etc.); and Pollution (air and water), crucial dumping recycling topics of today.

  We will do extra research to help our clients. Plants, wildlife and geographical in house; Historical at the National Archives and other public institutions.

  We will edit environmental texts. Also, instead of sending you a quantity of images to choose from, if you give us comprehensive details of your product (its aims, distribution etc.), we will use our experience in the field and our knowledge of the market to make the actual image selection for you.
